When Delivery Matters---Position OverviewThe Purchasing Coordinator assists our procurement department to obtain supplies at a fair price. The Purchasing Coordinator will contact vendors to acquire quotes for goods, process contracts and invoices, and communicate with trucking companies to ensure products are delivered within the designated timeframe. The Purchasing Coordinator will also be responsible for entering items ordered and received into our inventory management system and making sure invoices are paid on time.Essential Functions:Perform weekly inventory of supplies and identify purchasing needs for non-maintenance itemsParticipate in quarterly and yearly inventoriesResearch potential vendorsObtain missing packing slips and/or invoices from vendorsWork with division controller and accounting assistant on special projects/jobsBackup parts clerkTrack and monitor purchases, from initial order to delivery and/or not invoicedUpdate internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)Conduct market research to identify pricing trendsEvaluate offers from current and potential vendors and negotiate better pricesBuild relationships with current and new vendorsPrepare cost analysesPrepare monthly reports listing all purchases, returns and related costsMaintain and update records of invoices, contracts and all vendor informationCatalog and maintain master list of plant supplies and office suppliesWork with receiving and accounts payable on open itemsMonitor open PO receipts reportFollow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change ordersLiaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Good understanding of supply chain proceduresHands-on experience with purchasing softwareAdvanced knowledge of MS ExcelKnowledge of market researchStrong communication skillsSolid organizational skillsQualifications:High school diploma or GED certificateAssociate or bachelor's in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field preferred1+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or other administrative rolesWillingness to work additional hours as neededBenefitsPaid time off401(k) matchHealth insurance Dental insuranceVision insuranceLife insurance (company paid)Voluntary Life/AD&DVoluntary Life/AD&D (child)Short-term disability (company paid)Long-term disability (company paid)Accident InsuranceCritical Illness InsuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountTuition reimbursementReferral programProduction bonusCompetitive pay Compensation details: 27-32 Hourly WagePI6160faa98b39-25660-36549098
