Dematic is looking for a Commissioning Engineer for its Circular Sortation Center of Excellence. This person will be working as a part of an international team to start up automation systems on customer sites.

In this role, you'll be creating and optimizing C/C++ and PLC programs using Allen Bradley, configuring the custom database of the system, producing Safety program documentation, compiling all checklists, and on-site commissioning of sorter systems.

This role is based out of our Grand Rapids location but offers flexibility to work on a hybrid basis when not on the customer site. This role may require travel to customer sites up to 75%.

  The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $67,125-$98,450 annually at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
  
  Tasks and Qualifications:
  
  What You'll Do In This Role:
  
  • Develop Safe PLC program based on the electrical drawings & system specification.
    
  • Develop PLC/C program to interface the Sorter with external conveyor based on the system specification.
    
  • Produce the Safety check list document.
    
  • Commission the system as stand-alone (off-line commissioning) and testing the Safe PLC program in according to the safety check list.
    
  • Integrate the sorter with the rest of the system (on-line commissioning or integration test) and test the PLC interface signal with conveyor.
    
    
    What We Are Looking For:
    
    • 3-4 years of technical experience in automation, industrial or material handling fields as technician or Commissioning Engineer.
      
    • Bachelors degree or technical diploma in electronic, electrotechnics, electrical, mechatronic, Automation or IT engineering.
      
    • Willingness to travel up to 75% of time domestically and internationally.
      
    • Knowledge in programming software including Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens. C++ is not required, but is a plus.
      
    • Strong orientation to reach the targets, initiative, autonomy, and propensity to work in team.
